The Initiative of 'No To Plastics with Cloth Bags and Paper Bags' was initiated by Leo Club of Canacona with NSS Unit of Carmel College of Commerce, Arts and Science Nuvem supported by Lions Club of Canacona along with Lions Club of Nuvem Verna recently at VP Nuvem Hall. Lion Patricia Mendonca said that people should say no to plastic bags because they are 'non-biodegradable' material. Plastic bags are not only harmful for our health but also for the health of our environment. The cloth bags and paper bags were distributed to the people from Nuvem who visited the free eye check up camp. NSS Unit of Carmel College and Members of Leo Club of Canacona with 18 students along with the Coordinators Prof Sumati Satardekar, NSS Coordinator, Prof Audhoot Satardekar, Prof Sajani D’Costa and Prof Glady’s Dsouza and Lion Patricia Mendonca the President of Lions Club of Canacona has urged the people to say 'No To Plastics'. Lion Suresh Pai, President of Lions Club of Nuvem Verna with Leo Deepa Gosavi, President of Leo Club of Canacona and Lion Wilma, Lion Francis with Lion Adrian from Lions Club of Canacona were also present. There was a good response recently for the bags distribution which was held at Canacona Market.
