An award-winning journalist who picked up the Ted Wragg Award for Sustained Contribution to Education Journalism (CIPR) in 2010, Phil Baty has served as chief reporter, news editor, deputy editor and editor-at-large. Pushkar writes extensively on India’s higher education and has taught for over 15 years at BITS Pilani-Goa, McGill University, Concordia University and Goa University.

Phil and Pushkar will discuss various topics including why do world university rankings matter, why are the rankings sometimes controversial, how have India's universities performed in the world university rankings over the past decade and should India limit participation in world university rankings to select universities. The webinar will also take up another broader set of issues about India's universities and its higher education sector.
