Will India once again see itself in a 1962 position again? For us Indians we wouldn’t prefer firing artillery over the Sino border, but that doesn’t seem to be case with China. In an article published on a PLA website by Wang Dehua head of the Institute of South and Central Asia at the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies clearly indicates that if nothing works out then military conflict is certainly an option. In the recent past, Sikkim has become a hotbed of Sino-India skirmishes, where the Chinese are claiming Doklam plateau belongs to them, citing a century old pact. Chinese forces have gone to the extent of walking over into the Indian side on purpose. According to Wang, if diplomatic and military talks don’t serve the purpose then guns would be drawn. He even wants India to remember that China has taught us a lesson in the past.rnFinally, China has come out of its casket of being diplomatic, seeking peace through talks and has resorted to ways which it knows best “ arm twisting. On one side, the communist nation preaches of economic growth and peace to the world and then we have islands in the South China Sea that it lays claim on and now the Sikkim border. All its neighbouring nations know one fact, you can’t share anything with China, lest it soon says ‘that belongs to us’.
