A few weeks ago the CSE, a prestigious organization on environment based in Delhi gave Goa government the number one ranking for preservation of the environment in the State. I wonder how such an organisation just refers to the government reports without doing the reality check in our state and gives a thumbs up to the State. When every citizen and environment activists have been burning the midnight oil to check records of the TCP, Forest Dept. Captain of Ports, Coastal Authority, Mining and Wetland authorities, you name it there are thousands of cases of violations and conversion of fields, cutting of hills, encroachments in the coastal belt and rivers , the railways that have been systematically destroying Goa with the help of the double engine politicians in the forefront. Will the the President of the CSE please clarify her stand on this? The sooner the better. Goa 's forests and the green environment with the beaches are disappearing soon will become the leading state for casino tourism. Stop this casino culture tourism in the name of green Goa, golden sand and beaches.
