Pavements are meant for the safety of pedestrians. However on many occasions we come across obstructions on the pavements. At some spots, vendors selling different items occupy the pavements whereas at other spots, two-wheelers are being parked with great ease. Equally true is the presence of stray cattle squatting on the pavement. Seen in the picture are stray cattle squatting on the pavement near old bus-stand in Ponda. With lack of necessary space to proceed along the pavement, pedestrians are forced to walk along the road at risk to their lives. Let us hope that prompt favourable action would follow in this important matter in public interest.
