Traffic signboards are meant for assuring safety to travellers. However at times, some signboards are either noticed in dilapidated conditions or broken and fallen to the ground, thus defeating its purpose. Seen in the picture is a broken signboard lying amidst bushes along the Dhavali-Top Cola route in Ponda taluka. It is absolutely necessary that the collapsed signboard is repaired on a priority basis and re-installed at the earliest so that travellers are informed about the existence of a speed-breaker at the site. No doubt, travellers need to be assured safety at all costs. Let us hope that the concerned authorities would initiate prompt favourable action in public interest.
