We have recently seen a video of a child who lost his father in the Pahalgam massacre being asked questions by the media with a dozen microphones thrust in his teary face, but there is not a single video of questions being posed to those who are responsible for the safety of citizens.
A video of a journalist being almost pummeled to death for demanding accountability from BJP leaders is also doing the rounds. Not surprisingly there is not a single mainstream media house that ran a feature for fixing responsibility for the intelligence / security lapses in Kashmir. Not one journalist has the gumption to question the PM, Home Minister or Defence Minister for this tragedy for that would be risking his/her own life, no one dares to speak truth to power.
The Defence Minister of India is totally missing in action but he is busy holding inane 'high level' meetings, occasionally resurfacing to give bellicose statements.
Not one press conference has been conducted by the ruling dispensation to put facts before the people or inform us of retaliatory measures being planned.
