From the celebration of Masses to dine and dance events, Goan communities in the UK have been celebrating Christmas and New Year with the same fervour and enthusiasm as they would have celebrated the festive season in Goa.
Here are some of the various events being planned by different Goan associations in and around London and Swindon.
SWINDON
The Goan Swindon Association will present the Christmas Dance in aid of the Goan Community Hall on December 25 in the Sikh Community Hall at Kembrey Park, Swindon from 6 pm to 11.30 pm.
Music will be provided by 'Treble Makers', one-man Jerome's Band On the Run and Vance. Sheila D'Costa will be the compere at the event. There will be lucky entry ticket, raffle and spot prizes.
SOUTHALL
The Goan Art and Culture Ltd will present the New Year celebration dine and dance on December 31 from 7 pm to 1 am at the Monsoon Banqueting Suite, Dominion Road, Southall.
Music will be provided by 'Waterfront' and 'The Rifter's' band. There will be a special guest appearance by Comedian Bryan from Goa. Simon Varella will be the compere at the event. There will be a variety of snacks at The Snack Station.
The Goan Community Association, Southall, will present the Christmas Dine and Dance at Milan Palace UB2 4BG, Southall, Middlesex on December 24 from 6 pm onwards. Music will be presented by "Rainbow End' and the compere will be Delsy Goes.
The Goan Community Association will also host the 16th annual New Year's Eve Dance at Milan Palace in Southall from 6 pm onwards. Music will be provided by the band 'Rainbow End', while the moodsetter is Rusell D'Costa. The chief guest is Joe Valen. The Goan Community Association has been organising the Christmas and New year dine and dance events at Southall since 2009.
HOUNSLOW
The Zuemkar's in UK will present the St Stephen's Social at Hayes-West London on December 26.
The programme will begin with a Thanksgiving Mass at 11.15 am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hayes, followed by a get-together at the London Bar Stock Exchange Hounslow Market Place from 1.30 pm to 6.30 pm.
Live music will be provided by the band 'Waterfront' and the event will feature Aggy D. Simon Varella will be the compere at the show.
There will be snacks, buffet lunch and dessert, licenced bar and novelty and spot prizes.
Ultrasonic Impact Events led by Somesh Velguekar and Calvin Barretto will host the 'Red Santa' Christmas Eve Party on December 24 from 6 pm onwards at Jolly Waggoner, 618 Bath Road, Cranford, Hounslow.
Music will be presented by 'The Rifters' with individual performances by 'I am Lester', FC (Fabex Coutinho), DJ Jonathan and the Goan UK rapper NLR. The MC is Swiston. There will be lots of games, surprises, spot prizes and free parking facility available. Catering will be by Delights Cafe and Restaurant.
Ultrasonic Impact events will also organise the New Year’s Eve on December 31 from 6 pm onwards at the Cranford Community Hall. Music will be provided by the live band ‘Finesse’, one-man band FC (Fabex Coutinho), followed by DJ Jonathan and the Goan UK rapper NLR. The event will be live covered by Lester studio photography and live streaming. There will be Goan food, lots of games and surprises and spot prizes and free parking facility available.
