Coventry Goan Community hosts Easter dine, dance

LONDON

The Coventry Goan Community hosted its second Annual Easter Dine & Dance at the St Osburg's Church Hall in Coventry on April 5, an evening of Easter celebration for the Goan community.

RE-SYNC with Reman Fernandes, one-man solo performer, and DJ Synclair Varella, one of the youngest Goan DJs, provided entertainment for the evening. They entertained the guests right through the evening. The event was compered by Emcee Simon Varella, well-known in the Goan social circuit and entertainment fraternity.

Guests enjoyed a buffet prepared by the Coventry Goan Community Volunteers, which added an authentic Goan flavour to the festivities. Ashford Menezes offered the grace before meals.

Dr Maradona Rodrigues, one of the team members of the Coventry Goan Community, thanked the sponsors, volunteers, and attendees for their support in organising the event.

An Easter egg competition was held in two categories (5-8 years and 9-13 years) and the winners were awarded with cash prizes of £50 and £100 respectively. Spot prizes were also handed out to both kids and adults during the evening. A round of bingo was also conducted at the event. Owl Financial conducted a free raffle draw for all guests present at the event by giving away two prizes to the lucky winners.

Clifford Mendes, one of the team members of the Coventry Goan Community, thanked the Emcee and RE-SYNC for their performances and also thanked the crowd for making the event a success.

The Coventry Goan Community has lined up San Joao celebrations in June and a dance to celebrate the feast of St Francis Xavier in December.
