A craze called ‘extreme phone pinching’ “ where people dangle their phones loosely over dangerous drops “ is taking off across the world and it’s sending everyone’s blood pressure soaring.
Popularised by the music duo Twenty One Pilots back in July, Extreme Phone Pinching is the latest trend amongst adrenaline hungry teens, and it’s not for the faint-hearted. But it seems the stunt is just too much for the iPhone-loving public.
The concept is simple, pinch your smartphone with two fingers as close to the edge as possible and then dangle it precariously over ledges, hotel balconies, drains, or the edges of cliffs.
The viral trend is encouraging more and more technology fans to dangle their devices, like a smartphone-based recreation of Sylvester Stallone in Cliffhanger and people the world over are dangerously dangling their precious phones in all kinds of perilous places.
