In a celebration that drew a large attendance at the St John Fisher Catholic Church, Summerhill, Pointe-Claire, Quebec-Canada on December 2, the air resonated with the harmonious voices of the ‘Melodic Stars’ choir, accompanied by talented musicians who are an integral part of the ensemble.

Passionately belting hymns in both Konkani and English, the powerful performances left a lasting impact, with some moved to tears. Deacon Brian and Father Sibichan co-celebrated the Solemn Mass, accompanied by a homily that was both enlightening and heartwarming, delivered by Deacon Brian.

The event, sponsored by Zia and Alossius Braganza & family, surpassed expectations, with celebrations downstairs fostering a warm social gathering. Three impressive performances, featuring both vocal prowess and a captivating dance performance, enthralled the audience, highlighting the talent within the Quebec Goan Association (QGA) community.

Particularly noteworthy was a performance of the Konkani song "Ami Soglim Ek," skilfully infused with a unique Quebec twist by the performers, adding an unexpected and delightful touch to the festivities.

The seamless organisation, led by QGA President Blanche Da Costa and team, earned accolades, while the delicious food, prepared by the committee and Mama's Kitchen, added a flavourful touch to the memorable occasion. St Francis Xavier’s Feast was truly an unforgettable occasion that left an indelible mark.
