The Konkan Food Fiesta celebrated in Dubai brought together the city’s diverse Konkan communities from Goa, Mumbai and Mangalore.
The first edition of the Food Fiesta was a vibrant celebration of rich Konkan cuisines. The event was organised by Neville Menezes along with Billy Fernandes and Allen Patrick Fernandes.
The day started with a Brunch event with an authentic Konkan buffet catered by Fortune Atrium Hotel from 1 pm to 5 pm and continued later on with an After Party from 7 pm to 3 am.
All visitors found themselves wanting an extra plate or two when experiencing the vibrant and overwhelming food scene that satisfied all their cravings.
The two sold out fun-filled Back 2 Back events included with kids entertainment, competitions, spot prizes, authentic Konkan cuisine with non-stop music and entertainment.
An array of genres with Goa’s popular band ‘Tidal Wave’ along with Goa’ singing sensation Mark Revlon, DJ Jaden, DJ Flaz, DJ Manfred and MC Chriselle kept the crowd energised on the dance floor throughout the event.
Loads of spot prizes and competitions took place during the event giving the guest chances to win LED TV’s, hotel stays, dinner vouchers and lots more. Kids were also kept entertained by face painters, balloon benders, mascot, bouncy castle and competitions during the event.
The organisers also expressed their gratitude to all those who attended and for the community's constant love and support.
The next event for the Dubai Goans will be the Coast 2 Coast – Mumbai 2 Goa, with the celebration of the famous ‘Bandra Fest’ on September 7. The event will feature Goa’s popular band ‘24k’ along with Mumbai’s popular duo Reena and Lindsay, DJ’s, kids entertainment and authentic Goan cuisine.
