Thousands of people will be treated to Goan and Irish music, dance and cuisine at the Irish Goa Day 2024, the second such annual festival hosted by the Irish Goan community at the Burnaby Park in Greystones, Wicklow-Ireland on June 1 from 11 am to 7 pm.
According to Milla Hancock, one of the main organisers of the festival who traces her roots to Arambol-Goa, Goan food and Irish food will be served in the park, while there will be a number of other stalls selling various items, a kid’s play area and a chance to win big in the mega raffle draw trip to Portugal.
“Among the dignitaries to grace the function include Irish Health Minister Stephen Donelly, Goan legislator Pravin Arlekar who represents Pernem constituency at the Goa Legislative Assembly, and all councillors of Wicklow County Council.”
“As far as entertainment is concerned, we will have a young artiste Triyona D’Costa coming all the way from Goa to perform a Goan Mando dance on the stage. We will also have Goa’s leading band ‘Tidal Wave’, local Irish musician Robbie Doyle, DJ Ernest, singer and MC Austin Prior, Seby Costa and MC Anne Fernandes.”
