Alexander D’Silva is the new Sarpanch of the Village Panchayat of Ambelim. In the elections held on Wednesday, Alexander was declared elected unopposed after the Presiding Officer Alexean Fernandes received his lone nomination paper for the vacant post. At the meeting held at the panchayat office on Wednesday, only four out of the seven members were conspicuous by their presence. The Presiding officer informed that Alexander was declared elected unopposed since he received the lone nomination paper.
