This Goa Budget 2026-27 presents a forward-thinking roadmap for Viksit Goa 2037 that successfully balances fiscal prudence evidenced by a fifth consecutive revenue surplus with ambitious social and industrial development, said Dr Sagar Salgaocar, chairman ASSOCHAM Goa State Council. By prioritizing the ‘Chief Minister’s MSME Innovate Scheme’ and the ‘Mukhyamantri Export Incentive Scheme’, the government is providing the precise catalysts needed to scale local manufacturing and global competitiveness, he added. Furthermore, the integration of specialized oncology services, Level 2 trauma care, and the establishment of an ESI Medical College marks a transformative shift toward a high-end medical infrastructure. Dr Salgaocar, the managing director at Geno Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd observed that this strategic focus not only ensures inclusive health awareness and home grown talent but also stabilizes local pharmaceutical demand, creating a self-sustaining ecosystem where world-class healthcare and industrial growth reinforce one another.
