French film wave enthralls DBC club

Club Filmatics of Don Bosco College, Panjim under the leadership of Assistant Professor Sonika Lotlikar organized a special talk with a team of French filmmakers and actress along with short film screening for the students of the department of Mass Communication, on February 6.  Marianne Borgo, a French actress and Patrick Jeorge, a filmmaker who are renowned in the French film industry interacted with the students. Jeorge encouraged the students to follow their dream and passion which will bring success to them. VV Maheswar Rao, an anchor and film festival consultant, was the moderator of the session. He gave inciteful contrasts to the students by telling them about the Telugu films in India.  Three French films made by Patrick Jeorge were screened after the talk: "Le Masque" which focused on the theme of difference, "Alerte" which displayed the reaction of a teacher in an emergency situation and "La Queue" with a story showcasing a man struggling with queues in a market. The meticulously planned French film wave session was a great success, with its overwhelming tone of interaction and doses of practical knowledge it saw a total student participation of 30.
