PANAJI: The Goa State Research Foundation (GSRF) and GDP Foundation conducted a Foundation Course in Applied Social Research (ASR) Fundamentals for faculty mentors from Government College, Pernem; Government College, Sankhali; and Zantye College, Bicholim. The programme is part of an initiative to connect higher education institutions with community development, governance and livelihood-related research.
During the workshop, faculty mentors presented proposed research topics, objectives, methodologies and field engagement plans. Experts reviewed the projects and offered guidance to improve implementation. Sessions led by GSRF Chairman Dr Janarthanam, Managing Director Dr Savio Faleiro and GDP Foundation Managing Trustee Kishore Shah focused on research methods and planning. The workshop concluded with the finalisation of a six-month action plan. Student cohorts will undertake village-based research, with 10 to 12 papers expected by December 2026.
