MARGAO: Dr Lenny Da Costa was installed as the District Governor of Rotary International District 3170 for the Rotary Year 2026–27 at a ceremony attended by over 700 Rotarians from across the district. Rotary International Director KP Nagesh installed Dr Da Costa in the presence of the Council of Governors, district leaders, past district governors, club presidents, Rotaractors, Interactors and other dignitaries. Nagesh expressed confidence that District 3170 would continue to uphold Rotary’s values of service, fellowship, integrity and leadership.
In his address, Dr Da Costa said he would focus on inclusive leadership and work with clubs to turn ideas into meaningful community service. He also announced plans to establish 12 new Rotary Clubs, 22 Rotaract Clubs and 99 Interact Clubs. Several initiatives under the ImpactOne banner focusing on healthcare, education, environment and youth empowerment were also launched.
