PANAJI: Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao, in association with the Directorate of Higher Education, Goa, organised Geoconclave 2025 — a two-day national conference on ‘Recent Trends in Geoscientific Studies in Goa’. The event brought together researchers, academicians, and students from across India to deliberate on various aspects of Goa’s geology.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr Prasanna Kumar S., former Director of CSIR–NIO, who spoke on the impact of climate change on Goa’s ecosystem. An abstract volume featuring research on Goa’s geoscientific studies was also released.
The sessions covered themes such as core geology, environmental geosciences, and applied geoscience, with key speakers including Dr Manoj Ibrampurkar, Dr Rajiv Kumar Chaturvedi, and entrepreneur Malcolm Afonso. Awards were given for best paper and poster presentations. The event concluded with a valedictory address by Narayan Prasad of Fomento, who encouraged young researchers to pursue geoscientific studies.
