PANAJI: The 14th edition of the Goa Marathi Film Festival will be held in Panaji on August 9 and 10, and over 20 films will be screened during the festival. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will inaugurate the festival on August 9 at 9.30 am in the presence of actors Subodh Bhave and Upendra Limaye.
The festival will start with Mahesh Manjarekar’s film Nirvadhi, and the team of this film will be present on the occasion. Veteran film and theatre artist and producer Dr Mohan Agashe will be honoured with the ‘Gratitude Award’.
The films to be screened during the festival are Sthal, Ghaat, Jinnab, Asa Mi Ashi Me, Amaira, Drushya Adrushya, Parinati, Atali Batmi Futli, Ata Thambaicha Nai, Gulkand, April May ’99 and Pani. Two short films from two directors from Goa will also be showcased. Kishor Arjun-written Konkani short film Ek Cup Chaa and Sarv Shetye-directed Hindi short film Karz will also be screened.
