The Handicrafts Service Centre, Panaji under Ministry if Textiles Government of India has conducted a two-month long Skill Training programme for coconut shell craft at KVK campus, Margao. The training was attended by 22 artisans from South Goa under the guidance of Master Craftsman Sonu Shetgaonkar, a state awardee in coconut shell craft. The closing ceremony and certificate distribution for the trainees were held at KVK on November 6.
The chief guest was Sandeep B Fol Dessai, Director of Agriculture, Govt of Goa and the function was attended by Dattaprasad Dessai, Deputy Director, State Agriculture Dept, Dr Sivaram, Head and Senior Scientist, KVK Margao, Dr Saji Prabhakaran, Assistant Director, Handicrafts Service Centre, Panaji and others. There was an exhibition of craft products made by the trainees during their training period.
