Don Bosco Vocational Training Institute, Quepem held a beekeeping training programme on May 17 at the campus. 21 participants from various parts of Goa attended the programme. Noted apiculturist P Shaliyo introduced the participants to the basics of bee biology and management of the Apis Cerana Indica breed bee colony. During the second half of the day, P Shaliyo gave a practical demonstration to the participants in the apiary, which has live beehive colonies. Some of the participants also handled the combs with live bees which changed their concepts of bee behaviour.
