Joe Cookies Veterans prevailed over Pele Veterans, Benaulim 9-8 via the tie-breaker to move into the next round of the Friends Circle Nuvem Veterans football tournament, at Kir Bhat ground, Nuvem, on Tuesday.
Claude Alvares opened the scoreline for Benaulim in the 25th minute but the joy was short-lived as Pele equalised for Benaulim in the 27th minutes.
Pele netted the second goal for Benaulim but much to his dismany Vency equalised for Joe Cookies in the next minute. Damaciano and Melvin netted third and fourth goals for Joe Cookies in the 31st and 38th minutes respectively. Pele veterans netted two goals through Xavier in the 40th and 49th minutes respectively.
In the tie-breaker, Joe Cookies proved to be the better shooters.
The Man of the match award presented to Pele of Pele Veterans Benaulim.
