MARGAO: Chandrawaddo Boys Fatorda got the better of Savio 8 Curtorim 7-6 via the tie-breaker and moved to the quarter-finals of 17th all Goa Rebello Pandal open football tournament, organised by Rebello Pandal Maina, at St Rita Church ground, Maina-Curtorim, on Tuesday.
Savio 8 Curtorim dominated the first session of play and scored two goals in 18th and 25th minutes through Milton Fernandes and Meliston Fernandes while Fatorda's Hanshlum Furtado's header hit the goalpost and went out of play before half time .
Changing over, Chandrawaddo Boys regrouped and attacked the Curtorim defence and scored three goals in 40th, 45th and 48th minutes through Hanshlum Furtado's brace and a goal through Francisco Andrade while Savio 8 Curtorim equalised in dying minutes of the game through Floyd Fernandes.
In resultant tie-breaker, Savio 8 scored through Anslem and Garry Fernandes while Chandrawaddo found the net through Hanshlum Furtado, Francisco Andrade, Cliff Barreto and Rahul.
Anslem Fernandes goalkeeper of Savio 8 Curtorim was adjudged the man of the match which was presented Florian D'Mello, club member.
