CANACONA: The Canacona Lions Club began an ambitious hunger eradication week with the distribution of snacks to labourers at Chaudi on Saturday morning. Hundreds of labourers assembled at the KTC bus stand in Chaudi and were provided with tea, juice and biscuits. Canacona Lions Club President Pankaj Naik Gaunkar, Secretary Ulhas Phaldesai and other Lions and Leo Club members were present to help with the distribution of snacks to the labourers. On Sunday, Lions will distribute fruits to patients at the Canacona Community Health Centre (CHC) and lunch to children of Shri Damodar Vidyalaya at Loliem. Other projects during the week include lunch to children/students staying at Mata Ji Mandir (January 6), lunch for Kan’ya Vasiti Ghar, Loliem (January 7), lunch at Mata Ji Mandir (January 8), lunch at Damodar Vidyalaya, Loliem (January 9), grocery distribution to an old-age home (January 10), and lunch at Mata Ji Mandir (January 11).
