The Mangrove Society of India (MSI) will host ‘Mangrove Awareness Week’ from December 15 to 17 at the Goa College of Agriculture, Ela farm, Old Goa. This event is being organized in collaboration with the Goa State Biodiversity Board, Saligao, the Goa College of Agriculture, Ela, Old Goa, the Department of Environment & Climate Change, and the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority, Patto, Panaji. A two-day skill-building training workshop titled ‘Food Security, Livelihood Management, and Sustainable Eco-Tourism Potential of the Mangrove Ecosystem’ will take place on December 15 and 16. The awareness programme will include field visits to mangrove areas and will also host competitions such as drawing and painting, PowerPoint presentations, reel making, photography, and street plays for high school, higher secondary, and college students on December 17.
