Custody of four accused extended by five additional days

Anjuna police recorded the statements of three Arpora-Nagoa panchas and the Bardez BDO Prathamesh Shankardas, in connection with the fire tragedy at Birch By Romeo Lane in Arpora, which claimed 25 lives.
Police recorded the statements of Panchas Sushma Nagvekar, Rana Morajkar and Steffy Fernandes, to ascertain how the Arpora-Nagoa panchayat had granted the license to the club.
Anjuna police are also examining all files and documents related to the club which have been seized from the Arpora-Nagoa panchayat office.
After recording their statements before the police, the three women panch members said that they are cooperating in police investigations, but declined to comment in the matter.
Meanwhile, the police custody of the four accused arrested in connection with the Arpora fire tragedy have been extended by five additional days.
The accused, club manager Rajiv Nimai Modak (49) of Delhi, Priyanshu Thakur (32) of Delhi, Rajveer Singhania (32) of Uttar Pradesh and Vivek Chandrabhan Singh (27) of Uttar Pradesh were produced before the Mapusa court on Saturday, and the court extended their police custody.
