Pethkar elected unopposed as sarpanch of Kudnem

BICHOLIM: Damodar Pethkar has been elected unopposed as sarpanch of Kudnem panchayat in the Sanquelim constituency. The post became vacant after former sarpanch Babla Malek resigned. The election was held at the Kudnem panchayat office. Former sarpanch Rajan Phalke proposed Pethkar’s name for the post, and it was seconded by Sunidhi Kamat.

Deputy sarpanch Deepika Naik and panch members Rajan Phalke, Babla Malek, Purva Malek, Shrikant Chiknekar and Sunidhi Kamat were present. Panchayat Secretary Sujata Morajkar and Bicholim Block Development Officer Navnath Amre assisted with the election process. Speaking after his election, Pethkar said he would work for the overall development of Kudnem village under the guidance of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
