PJAG to celebrate World Photography Day on Aug 19

The Photo Journalists’ Association Goa (PJAG) will celebrate World Photography Day and its 18th Anniversary on August 19 at 11:00 am at the PJAG Art Gallery, Opposite Don Bosco School, Panaji, Goa. On this ocassion, PJAG will felicitate three stalwarts for their invaluable service to the profession. Senior photojournalists Ganadeep Sheldekar of Navhind Times and Satish Kunkalkar of Tarun Bharat Daily will be recognized for their decades of committed service in the field of photojournalism. Veteran photographer Ankush Shiva Naik will also be felicitated with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his remarkable journey and outstanding contribution to professional photography. The winners of the State Level Photo Contest will also be announced during the function. In addition, an exhibition of photographs on the theme “Cultural Face of Goa” featuring the works of 17 photojournalists will be inaugurated. The exhibition will remain open to the general public on August 19 and 20 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. The function will be graced by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Priol MLA Govind Gaude, and Director of Art and Culture Vivek Naik.
