Students, teachers honoured at Actizens Club Awards

PANAJI: The fifth Annual Awards Ceremony of the Desh Apnayen Sahayog Foundation was recently held in Panaji, recognising the efforts of students, teachers and schools associated with the Actizens Club programme. During the event, special honours were presented to students, teachers and schools for their active participation in various activities conducted under the Actizens Club initiative.

Awards were given to outstanding students for their performance, teachers who motivated and guided them, and schools that implemented impactful initiatives as part of the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Salil Pitale, Director of the foundation, said the initiative aims to encourage students to learn from inspiring personalities of the past and present and contribute towards building a better future for the country.

He added that the programme is helping to instil a sense of citizenship, patriotism and social responsibility among students in Goa. The foundation currently works with 77 government schools, 315 aided schools and 98 higher secondary schools in Goa.

The initiative has also expanded to other states, reaching nearly 2,000 schools in Madhya Pradesh, 4,000 in Andhra Pradesh and 5,000 in Karnataka. The programme, introduced in government schools in 2021 in partnership with the Government of Goa.
