A new computer lab was recently inaugurated at the St Dominic Savio High School in Calangute, boosting the computer aided education for the less privileged children. The Kineco Kaman company provided 17 computers as part of their CSR initiative. The school, run by Don Bosco’s Konkan Development Society (KDS) aims at offering high quality education for all, regardless of their financial or social status. The children from neighbouring villages who attend the school will be benefited from the digital education. The lab was inaugurated by Shekhar R Sardessai, chairman and managing director of Kineco Kaman in the presence of Fr Laurence Monteiro, executive director, KDS and Fr San Carvalho, supervisor, guests from Kineco, KDS staff, school staff and students.
The school (previously known as Calangute Peoples High School) was handed over to Konkan Development Society in May of 2019 and since then the infrastructure is being gradually upgraded by adding new classrooms, furniture and electrical fittings. With the newly added computer lab, the school is sufficiently equipped to serve the children from the community.
