Goa Heritage Festival to start in Panaji today

PANAJIThe three-day Goa Heritage Festival (GHF) is starting on November 15 at Campal Heritage Precinct in Panaji. Organised by the Goa Heritage Action Group to celebrate India’s smallest state’s rich and diverse cultural legacies, the week ahead will feature heritage walks, talks, music, dance, literature and poetry, food, beverages and entertainment for the entire family from morning past sunset. There will be a ‘Holy Hill’ walk at St Augustine tower by Ar Noah Fernandes before the inaugural of the Goa Heritage Festival by Dr Jorson Fernandes, chairperson of Goa Heritage Action Group (GHAG) and Goan writer Damodar Mauzo. Talks and presentations by Gabriella D’Cruz, Maria de Lourdes and Bravo Da Costa Rodrigues will be held at Heritage Bistro. Reis Magos walk by Ar Gerard Dacunha at Regis Magos Fort, Surbhi Agarwal will speak on Art and Indian Nationalism and M R Ramesh Kumar will present Goa’s Heritage through philately. The festival not only aims to display art of local heritage but to also widen the concept of cultural heritage through human creativity and expressions via photography, documentary, sculptures, paintings and artefacts.

‘Maye Mhaje Navdurge’ to be released today

PANAJIThe devotional Konkani song ‘Maye Mhaje Navdurge’ will be released at the hands of Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar at Shree Navdurga Saunsthan, Madkai at 4 pm on November 15. Presented by Deepanjali, the song is written by John Aguiar, sang and choreographed by Goan artist Akshay Naik and sponsored by Suhas Karkal. The videography is done by Uddhav Kerkar of I Click and recording, mastering and mixing is done at Mahalasa Recording Studio.
