The Old Mandovi bridge will be closed for vehicular traffic on Sunday from 7 am to 1 pm for around 6 hours on account of maintenance work. “Work of urgent replacement of the existing elastomeric expansion joints and bearing of the Old Mandovi Bridge on NH-17 (66) across River Mandovi at Panaji Goa is started, for which there is a need to close the Old Mandovi Bridge on August 14 between 7 am to 1 pm (6 hours) for maintenance of the bridge. During the closure, traffic is to be diverted from Atal Setu and the New Mandovi Bridge,” states a notification issued by office of Executive Engineer Work Division VII (NH) Public Works Department. In 2019, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway had delegated the power of repair to work division VII.
