Anantrao Pawar College of Architecture students and faculties (30 nos) visited historical Margao, to study historical and heritage settlement and hotel and hospitality institute recently. The aim was to study the changing historical and socio-cultral changes in Goa which was ruled by Portuguese for many years. Students had Heritage walk at the historical lanes of Margao under the guidance of Architect Shalka Naik. Students studied the traditional houses, churches and cultural spaces. They visited Holiday Inn a 5-star beachside resort, and Laxmi-Empire a 3-star hotel, in Margao under the guidance of Mangesh Prabhugaokar and Dr Ashish Rege. The students also visited VM Salgaonkar International Institute of Hospitality Management, under the valuable guidance of Architect Yatin Kandolkar, and Architect T D Gadgil. Students visited the Goa Chitra museum, by Victor-Hugo Gomes. Students got opportunity to interact with Ar Gautam Desai, chairman Goa State Expert Appraisal Committee for Environment Clearance, and Parikshit Khot, chairman, Khot Builders and Ar Mangesh Prabhugaokar, Landscape Designer, on topic Architectural profession and opportunities with responsibilities in architectural profession. During the visit Goa Government College of Architecture, has provided all types of help.
