FOGA calls on Goa governor

Rear Admiral Philipose G Pynumootil, Flag Officer Commanding Goa Area (FOGA) called on Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai at Raj Bhavan on Monday.

During the meeting, Rear Admiral Pynumootil apprised the governor of the contemporary issues pertaining to armed forces, and also assured all support to the state administration towards Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations.

Youth nabbed in Zuarinagar for mobile store burglary

VASCOVerna police on Tuesday arrested Vinayak Rane of Birla-Zuarinagar on charges of decamping with goods worth Rs 25,000 from a mobile store in Zuarinagar.Verna PSI Shridhar Kamat said all the stolen property had been recovered from the accused."We have arrested the person with the assistance of call monitoring cell of South Goa district headed by PSI Jaideep Amre and local reliable information. Further investigation is underway," said PSI Kamat.
