An endangered green sea turtle got trapped in a fishing net at Palolem and was later rescued by locals on Saturday. A forest department team later released the turtle into the sea.According to sources at the Pissonem forest Range, the green sea turtle got caught in a fishing net had sustained minor injuries. Locals helped remove the turtle from the fishing net.On receiving information, a forest team comprising Manjunath Kalangutkar and Datta Velip (forest guards) attached to the Pissonem Range (Forest-Wildlife) went to the site and took the turtle in its possession.After medical treatment by a Canacona veterinary officer, the sea turtle was released into the sea.
