The Sarpanch of Varca Panchayat, Anthony Reginaldo Rodrigues and deputy Sarpanch Vincentina Fernandes has been voted out of office in a no-confidence motion on Tuesday.
Six members of the Varca panchayat had tabled a no-confidence motion against the Sarpanch and deputy Sarpanch for not taking the members into confidence.
The six signatories Crosly Charton Jose Lourenco, Rosario Leao Cardozo, Shalini Pereira, Tercy D’Costa, Francisco Fernandes and Romeu Pereira had further claimed that the duo is not taking up any development work in the village.
Sarpanch Reginaldo, however, had denied the allegations that he was not taking the members into confidence, claiming that he was placing the correspondence and applications from the villagers before the Panchayat body meetings.
