Revora hosts silk thread jewellery workshop

The Silk Thread Jewellery Workshop, organized by the Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, concluded on May 26 at the Village Panchayat, Revora. The workshop, held from May 22-26, aimed to empower participants with intricate silk thread jewellery-making skills. The concluding function was graced by Chief Guest Nilkanth Halarnkar, Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Services, Factories and Boilers. Other distinguished guests included Sagun R. Velip, Director, Directorate of Art and Culture; Vijeta Phadte, Sarpanch VP-Revoda; and Kranti Chari, ACO, who praised the participants’ creativity and dedication.

The workshop was expertly led by Shweta Sawardekar, Silk Thread Jewellery Expert, having 7 years of experience in this art form, supported by Shravanti Doddapaneni, Assistant. Their guidance helped participants showcase a stunning array of handcrafted jewellery at the concluding exhibition. The event included the presentation of certificates and mementoes, speeches from dignitaries, and recognition of the participants’ efforts. The workshop aligns with Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa initiatives, celebrating Goa’s artistic heritage and empowering local communities.
