180 women get Laadli Laxmi scheme in Mandrem constituency

GTDC Chairman and Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte said 180 women have been given approval letters for the Laadli Laxmi scheme, while Rs 2 lakh would be given to the next of kin of 71 persons who died due to Covid in his constituency.He was speaking at the Mandrem panchayat hall on Monday after distributing approval letters for the Laadli Laxmi scheme to women from Keri-Tiracol, Paliem, Arambol, Mandrem, Morjim, Agarwada, Parcem, Tuem and Virnoda.

"Despite not being a minister, I managed to get approved Rs 1.80 crore under the Laadli Laxmi scheme. The BJP is the only party concerned about empowerment of women," he said.

“In our constituency, 71 persons have died due to Covid and their bereaved families will be given Rs 2 lakh each.Besides, the government also introduced a scheme to give Rs 5,000 to small business owners such as fruit, flower, fish vendors and pilots. I request the needy to register their names in my office for this scheme," he added. Among those present at the function included Arambol Sarpanch Manohar Kerkar, Mandrem Sarpanch Subhash Asolkar, Agarwada Sarpanch Pramodini Agarwadekar, Parcem Sarpanch Pragati Sopte, Tuem Sarpanch Suhas Naik, Virnoda Sarpanch Mangaldas Kinlekar, GTDC Director Sudesh Sawant, Mandrem BJP Block President Madhu Parab and Mandrem BJP Mahila President Deepa Talkar.
