The Goa Blind Cricket Association (BCA) has decided to celebrate the Louis Braille Day celebration on January 4.
The association will organise a Brail reading and writing competition on January 3 at Youth Hostel, Pedem, Mapusa at 8 pm. There will be three prizes in each of the competitions.
On January 4 a cricket match will be organised at the GCA ground, Porvorim which will begin at 9 am. The prize distribution function will be held at 3.30 pm at the GCA ground in Porvorim. The President of BCA, Suraj Lotlikar will be the chief guest on the occasion.
Secretary of GCA, Vipul Phadke, President-AIBCA (All India Blind Cricket Association), Purdon Monteiro, Secretary-AIBCA, John David, President Blind Welfare Association, Goa, Milagres D’Costa, President of National Association for the Blind (Goa Branch), Rossen Mendonca and others will be present on the occasion. A special talk on Louis Braille and short documentary will be screened in the afternoon. This celebration is being organised in collaboration with the Goa Cricket Association of Goa.
