“We have a literature collective for inclusive literature, a mental health collective, a research collective for inclusive research and further, an experts’ circle, working in different domains of diversity and inclusion,” states Jai Gautam, community and operations associate at Belongg.
This literature collective recently launched the Belongg Library network in collaboration with 22 cultural spaces across 17 cities. The Belongg Library network is a fast-growing network of cultural and literary spaces across India that seek to promote diversity and inclusion through diverse lending libraries, book readings, author interactions and other fun literary events to build a virtual and physical community of readers who want to explore the world of identities, inclusion and representation. “Our goal is to harness the power of literature to foster communities that value and celebrate diversity by launching 100 such chapters by the end of 2021 across the country,” says Jai.
