MARGAO: Dempo Sports Club blanked Mandopa Sporting Club 2-0 in the GFA First Division League, at Rosary ground, on Friday.
The Dempo colts looked resolute to bag three crucial points. Dempo took the lead in the 12th minute when Cristiano Gomes punted the ball to the far corner of the net. Spurred by the lead, Dempo colts upped their attack when Macnelle Dias sealed the rival fate before half time.
The second session continued in same vein but Dempo could not add to their tally due to poor marksmanship.
In another match, at Cansaulim Stadium, Goa Police thumped Nuvem Sports Club 5-0. The highlight of the day was a brilliant a brace by Sunny Fernandes. Nakul Gawas, Mayuresh Naik and Deepak Naik were the other goal scorers.
