MARGAO: Goa Police Veterans and Goa Priests played out a 1-1 draw in an exhibition football match organised by Goa Priest , at Monte de Guirim ground on Monday.
Fr Menoy D'Souza and Fr Benson Colaco missed chances to score for Goa Priests in the sixth and ninth minutes respectively. Goa Police's Mahesh Sawal and Alex Dias missed opportunities to put their team ahead in the 12th and 17th minutes respectively.
It was Fr Movin Fernandes who netted the first goal of the match with a placement shot in the 35th minutes off a cut placement shot.
Goa Police's Shivanand Naik's shot hit the cross bar and went out of play in the 47th minutes. However, Shivanand Naik managed to find the back of the net with a glancing header in the 69th minutes to cancel out the Priests' lead.
Goa Police DYSP Wilson C D'Souza was the chief guest and gave away the prizes.
