Ganpat Parsekar College of Education's Library Service Committee and NDLI Club collaborated with the IQAC Committee to organise a talk focused on 'Financial Literacy'.
The programme featured Dr Virendra Amonkar and Sanchali Salgaonkar, assistant professors from Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Govt College of Arts and Commerce, Virnoda as the resource persons. It enlightened students about the crucial role of financial knowledge in shaping their future. Pramod Kerkar, the college librarian introduced the resource persons to the audience.
College principal Udesh Natekar emphasised the significance of financial knowledge for students in dealing with unforeseen financial challenges. Kavita Nair, assistant professor in zoology and IQAC coordinator, stressed how financial literacy equips individuals with the necessary understanding to make informed decisions about their finances.
During the talk, the resource persons highlighted the various forms of savings available to individuals to secure their financial future. They emphasised mutual funds and elucidated how these funds facilitate investment in diversified portfolios. The session witnessed active participation from students, fostered discussions and the exchange of viewpoints with the resource persons.
Shalini Naik comprered the event while Siddhesh S Raut, assistant professor and the convenor of the Library Service Committee, delivered a vote of thanks.
