MARGAO: The Global Romi Lipi Abhiyan (GRLA) will hold a meeting for Romi script supporters on 16 February at 4 pm at Holy Spirit Church hall, Margao. The meeting will discuss ways to secure equal status for the Roman script in the Official Language Act alongside Devanagari. It will also explore the best approach to introduce Romi script Konkani in schools under the new National Education Policy.
GRLA has invited everyone who supports justice for the Romi script to attend. The organisation is also forming various committees to take the movement forward. “Tomorrow, we will select our Cultural Committee and Youth Committee. We invite all Goans, especially young people, to join us,” said GRLA President Kennedy Afonso.
He added that the Advisory Committee and Literature Committee will be launched the following week.
