Governor in his message said that “Guru Nanak Dev Ji was a great seer, saint and mystic who imparted to the world deep knowledge of the eternal values of spirituality, humanity, morality, devotion and truth. His exhortation to overcome the five vices of lust, greed, attachment, anger and pride are very relevant to the present world afflicted by such undesirable influences. His preachings have also helped us to preserve the unity and secular outlook of our country”. “On this occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti let us renew our commitment to uphold his valuable teachings so as to live in peace and harmony,” the Governor added.
PC Trust hands Allena Fernandes scholarship
PANAJIAllena Marayana Fernandes, ex-student of Chubby Cheeks is the first recipient of the Dr VS de Mascarenhas Memorial Science Scholarship award for topping SSC at the GBSHSE under PC Trust. Allena continues to get Rs 15,000 annually to complete a degree course in Science. She scored 95% at Std XII Science Dempo HSS Miramar and ranked 25 in Goa (NEET), 21 GCET. She has opted for Medicine as both her parents are doctors.
