Indian Medical Association (IMA) Goa State in its effort to empower parents, teachers and students, has launched a campaign ‘Be kind to your mind’ as part of their mental health awareness campaign. The campaign would be carried forward in collaboration with Sangath Goa, Directorate of Education (DoE), Directorate of Health Services (DHS) and Goa Education Development Corporation (GEDC) through a series of initiatives throughout 2024 aimed at promoting mental well-being across the State. The initiatives are ‘Paalak-Mitra: Fostering Parent Child Relationships’, ‘Manas-Mentors: Training of Trainers’ focused on empowering and training teachers, school counsellors, and parents with the skills needed to support students in managing stress, building healthy family dynamics, and fostering a culture of mental health awareness in schools. The latest step in this campaign was the launch of information-education and communication dissemination materials in the form of posters on stress management and parenting skills. These materials were officially unveiled recently at the GIMACON 2024 medical conference at the hands of the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
