Menopause, physiotherapy session held in Taleigao

PANAJI: The St Michael Parish Women’s Cell, along with the Association of Senior Citizens of Taleigão, held a session on “Menopause and Physiotherapy: Caring for Your Changing Body” on February 15 at the church hall in Taleigão. Dr. Raineera Barreto and staff nurse Selma Gomindes from GMC spoke about pre-menopause, menopause and post-menopause. They explained the physical and emotional changes women face and suggested practical ways to handle symptoms. They also stressed the role of family members, especially husbands and children, in giving understanding and support.

Physiotherapist Dr. Ferral Fernandes spoke about how exercise can help maintain strength and flexibility. She demonstrated simple routines and encouraged women to join in. Many participants shared their experiences and thanked the organisers for the guidance. Several attendees came with relatives. Luiza Luis welcomed the gathering, Ninfa Da Silva spoke about the Women’s Cell activities, and Dr. Edith Furtado delivered the vote of thanks.
