Anand Naik has been elected unopposed as the Chairman of Ponda Municipality on Thursday. This post was lying vacant as the former Chairman Ritesh Naik had resigned from the post a few days ago. As Chief Minister Pramod Sawant suggested the name of Anand Naik, he has been elected unopposed as the Chairman. On Thursday Anand Naik filed his candidature for the post of Chairman. As only one application was received, Anand Naik was declared unopposed. Chief Officer of Ponda Municipality Yogiraj Gosavi, former Chairman Ritesh Naik, Councillor Rupak Desai and other Councillors were present. Later while speaking to mediapersons, the Chairman Anand Naik stated that with the support of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik and other political leaders the development of Ponda will be undertaken.
