PANAJI: The department of Physical Education of Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora in association with NSS unit and Commerce Department celebrated the National Sports Day on August 29 to mark the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand by garlanding his portrait. Devendra Pednekar, an international football player of Goa who represented India in Germany was felicitated on the occasion. A Fit India Pledge was administered to the students and staff members during the event.
Chief guest, Rajani Naik, APEO, Dharbandora in her speech attributed success achieved by Dhyan Chand to his extra-ordinary skill and talent along with sheer hard work and immense dedication to the game. She further advised the students about the need of discipline and positive mindset to help them to shape their future. The event evoked a good response.
